The real estate developers and agents in Gujarat  may get a relief from the state government. According to the sources, the Neela Munshi, an officer on special duty in Gujarat Urban development department has requested the chairman of RERA Gujarat, Manjula Subramaniam,  to extend the deadline for RERA registration by two months to give developers adequate time to assemble the required documents  and upload the project details flawlessly.

According to the Manjula Subramanian, the realtors in the state are requesting the government to extend the registration period as the RERA  is a new reform and it is taking time for them to understand the rules. Also, the heavy rain and flood in the state have affected the realtors and project development. Citing the problems faced by the realtors, we have requested the state government to extend the deadline and we are waiting for the reply from them. However, we have received more than 500 RERA registration applications from developers and agents and we are inspecting the same. After the inspection, we will release the registration certificate for the applicants, she added.
